Meet the Team
Pre School Staff
My name is Laura and I am the manager of Blofield Preschool. I have been working in childcare for 13 years and it is a job I absolutely love. I have a national diploma in childcare and education and have done many courses which help me with my job. I love singing with the children and getting really messy with them is always very fun. I have worked at Blofield pre-school for just over a year, I started as a childcare practitioner and in April last year got promoted to manager. My main duties at Blofield pre-school is being a key worker to the children, helping with the setting up and running of the preschool and working alongside the brilliant team we have. I look forward to meeting your children and helping them with their leaning journey.
Hi, my name is Lucy, mummy to 2 little boys who now attend Blofield Primary school. I started college 14 years ago to complete a 2 year course, for which I gained my level 3 qualification in early years. From there I became a nursery practitioner in a popular nursery setting in Cringleford, working my way up to deputy manager before leaving on maternity to have my first little boy, shortly followed by his brother. I took a few years off to enjoy the early years with them before returning to childcare. I have 14 years’ experience of working with different age ranges, 3 months to 5 years. My main role within Blofield Pre School includes key worker duties and working alongside Becky as SENCO. Within the setting I especially enjoy messy play, seeing the children exploring and enjoying different textures. I also really enjoy reading stories and music and movement. My hobbies include socialising with friends, running (occasionally!) and sharing lots of experiences as a family as I watch my boys grow.
My name is Becky, the Deputy Manager and I have a childcare Level 3 qualification. I have many years’ experience working with children, and my favourite things to do at Preschool are being creative and helping the children to achieve and learn new skills. I am a mum to a little boy, and enjoy walking and reading in my spare time.
I’m Tajana, and am originally from Slovenia although have been in the UK for 20 years. I worked as a nanny in London for 10 years and I am training for my Level 2 in childcare at the moment. I like to do arts and crafts with children in Preschool. In my spare time I like country walks with my 2 boys, running and reading.
I’m Karlie and I’m a mother of two children. I’m qualified in Childcare & Education at Level 3, and have over 20 years’ experience working with children from 3 months to Preschool age. I work at the Preschool on Tuesdays and Thursdays (and whenever else I’m needed). I love working with children and find it incredibly rewarding, especially when you observe them learning a new skill, and I enjoy their interesting conversations! I enjoy reading and long walks in my spare time
I’m Jo and I’m the Administrator for the Preschool. After working for over 20 years in the financial services industry, I joined the Preschool in February 2017. My duties include: claiming funding for parents; producing parent invoices; maintaining our session lists and waiting lists; looking after our email account; writing our half-termly newsletter, and lots, lots more. I am married with a 7 (going on 17) year old daughter, and we live in Thorpe St Andrew.
Hi, my name is Zoey and I have recently joined the committee as Chairperson. I have 2 girls, my eldest is currently at Blofield pre-school. Before becoming a full-time mum, I was the manager of a travel agent in the city which helped fulfil my love of travel. My daughter started at Blofield pre-school in September 2018 and I knew I wanted to become a member of the committee to enable me to have some involvement in her early years. I was also aware that without a committee the pre-school would have to close which would be devasting for the staff, children, parents and the village.
Hi I’m Sarah and I’m vice chair / committee secretary. I have a 3 year old son who started Blofield pre-school in September 2018 and he loves it here. I have to admit I was quite ignorant when it came to how the pre-school works and what the committee was all about. Now being part of it, I can’t emphasise enough how vital this team is, to work alongside pre-school staff to provide good quality early years care and education. Without the committee there is no pre-school. Without a pre-school, a piece of the local community is missing. We all bring a little something to the table and it has been a pleasure to join such a lovely group who have the same vision and work ethic- to make this pre-school a continuing success for children and their families.
Hi, I’m Nick. Since joining the committee as Treasurer in April 2017 I have really enjoyed being part of the Pre-school team and helping the charity to grow. I now appreciate the effort required to run a Preschool and the fantastic commitment and dedication the staff make every single day
When my daughter attended the Preschool I was a little concerned with how she'd manage the step up. She was made to feel welcome immediately and loved every single day and in a few months my son will be joining the Pre-school.
Hi! I'm Erica and I have lived in the village of Blofield for the past 4 years. It was my son starting at the Pre-School in September 2019 which led me to become one of the newest additions to the Committee team. As a registered charity, the Pre-School relies upon fundraising events and donations to ensure it can continue to provide the most up to date equipment and learning resources for the children - enhancing their learning experience. I have been passionate about fundraising for many years, having successfully raised funds for various different causes, and I am therefore excited and feel privileged to combine this with my passion for ensuring our Pre-School is well supported and continues to teach our children for years to come as we are so fortunate to have such a fantastic facility serving our local community.
Hi, my name is Jacquelyn and I joined the Committee in September 2019 as Payroll/Co-Treasurer. I have 2 girls, my eldest having just started at Blofield Preschool. I have worked as a Childminder locally for the past 2 years and, prior to having my own children, I worked as a Legal Secretary. I joined the Committee as I believe it plays such an important role in the local community. I have learnt so much about the hard work and dedication of all involved at the preschool and I hope that in a small way I can contribute towards this and put my knowledge of the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) to good use!
Hi my name is Angela and I am new to the committee. I have a son who started at the preschool in 2019, and I have joined the committee because I really value community life and having a well run preschool in our village, so I wanted to help support this. I am a jewellery designer maker working from my home studio in Blofield. Before having my son I worked as an HR & Health & Safety Manager in London, and more recently Norfolk.
